Speaking to the Hearts of Men: Applying AEDP with Gender in Mind
An AEDP Workshop at the San Francisco Theological Seminary “Castle at the Top of the Hill”
with Dale Trimble, MA, RCC, Faculty AEDP Institute
Through video examples of Dale’s therapy with men we will explore how gender can influence the processing of emotion to completion. Through stories, pictures, research and conversation we will discover gender differences as revealed by neuroscience, male power – privilege & violence, contempt for men in today’s culture. Confronting from the heart to uncover the man’s “self-at-best,” we will examine the risks and benefits of being a male or female therapist when working for a male patient.
We will work in the tradition of e.e. cummings: “always the beautiful answer that asks a more beautiful question.”
