AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) is one of the fastest growing and most exciting approaches for working with attachment trauma. It calls upon the therapist’s explicit caring and attuned use of self to invite, promote and enhance inborn, innate, biologically–wired tendencies for growth and healing.
In this presentation, Karen Pando-Mars will show videotapes of AEDP in actual sessions that illustrate how to intervene moment-by-moment to undo patients’ aloneness, establish safety, and bring about a deep engagement with their internal experience.
You will learn the AEDP map of the Four States and Three State Transformations and, by witnessing it in action learn vital pathways and techniques for guiding the journey of transformative healing.
Karen will also introduce channels theory, brought to AEDP by David Mars, Ph.D., and identify ways that patients signal key information somatically, through multiple channels of experience. Bridging the gap between word and emotion, even when affect is not apparent, these channels can open other avenues of expression that can lead to a moving and accelerated healing process.
