Epstein, Bernard
If we often struggle to connect with ourselves-with our hearts- then how can we expect to feel safe, to make sense out of what’s happening inside, and between us and others. If people with whom we communicate don’t seem interested in “getting us”, in connecting, then what’s the point of communicating? I help people find meaningful ways to communicate and connect with themselves and each other, ways that lead them toward understanding, toward healing, and ultimately, toward one another.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in treating children, adolescents, families, couples and individuals confronting symptoms related to the following concerns: depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, grief, LGBTQ “issues”, attention/learning problems, oppositional/defiant “behaviors,”bipolar disorder, marital conflict/divorce, parenting difficulties, and other family relationship problems.
In my work I utilize a number of treatment modalities, including AEDP, systemic family therapy, EMDR, Narrative Therapy, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
