Joshua Nelson
My goal is to help you resolve your disagreements more productively and deepen your connection. I believe that the way to achieve this is to increase your understanding of each other. If you each feel more understood in the relationship, your arguments won’t spin out of control as easily or often. In this therapy I will also help you to create a “couple bubble” around you. I believe that your relationship always has to be protected from outside negative influences around you. You can’t let anyone or anything get between you or your relationship will be in trouble.
I practice primarily AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy). Using this therapy, I help you to drop beneath the verbal arguments, evaluations and opinions of each other and look more at how you’re experiencing each other-emotionally and physically.
Trained at Princeton University and the Ackerman Institute for the Family, I have been in practice for over 30 years. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. I work exclusively with couples.
