Platt, Meghann
Meghann Platt, Psy.D. is a licensed psychologist in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Platt graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of Colorado and earned a Master of Science and a Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University in Oregon. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Counseling Center at University of Washington and her post-doctoral residency at the Counseling Service at Vassar College. She also receives ongoing advanced training in Gestalt Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) for individual, couples, and groups. Dr. Platt is a member of the Oregon Psychological Association, the Association for the Advancement of Gestalt Therapy, the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy, and the AEDP Institute. She has also served on the board of the Association for the Advancement of Gestalt Therapy and chaired the organization’s Research Committee, and currently focuses her volunteer and advocacy efforts in her local community in Portland.
In her clinical practice, Dr. Platt specializes in working with people who present with identity development concerns and experiences of surviving power-based personal violence. Accordingly, she approaches her research and clinical work through with an attachment-based developmental framework and multicultural and social justice lens. Dr. Platt has a strong interest in advancing research on humanistic, dynamic, and other non-manualized therapies.
